  • Mandatory team registration will be held on Wednesday, June 23rd at the Ohana East Hotel, Waikiki.


  • Opening Ceremonies will be held on Wednesday, June 23rd.


  • The competition begins - TBA


  • The tournament semi-finals and finals will be played on Saturday and Sunday morning.

WHAT IS NEW IN 2004?
  • Over-30 & Over-35 Women’s
  • Divisions.


  • Addition of an International
  • Over-40 Men’s Division.


  • Women’s & Men’s Over-45
  • Divisions.


  • Rule Change regarding players
  • Eligibility – A player must reach
  • the minimum age for a division
  • during that calendar year, not prior
  • to participation in the Veteran’s Cup.

CUP HISTORY
  • The Veteran’s Cup was established in 1998.
  • Nine teams participated in the inaugural event in Bellingham, WA.
  • 19 teams participated in 1999 event in Bellingham, WA.
  • 39 teams took part in the 2000 Cup in Nashua, New Hampshire.
  • 41 teams participated in the 2001 competition in Beckley, WV.
  •     56 teams participated in 2002 in Beckley,WV.
  •     65 teams participated in 2003 in Hawaii.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
  •     There are eleven domestic  and one international divisions in the competition.


  • Over-30 & Over-35 Women’s Divisions


  • Over-40 Women & Over-40 Men’s Premier & First Divisions.


  • Over-45 Women & Over-45 Men’s Divisions


  • Over-50 Women and Men


  • Over-55 Women and Men


  • Over-40 Men’s International Division


  • A minimum of four teams are required to hold a competition in any division.

TOURNAMENT COSTS

  • The fee for the Cup is $300.00 per team, plus a $500.00 refundable performance bond.
  • Each division winner receives a cash prize of $750.00 with each runner-up team receiving a cash prize of $250.00.
  • Each division winner receives an automatic berth in the competition the following years entry fee waived.

VETERAN’S CUP RULES
  • All teams must be registered with USASA and have their roster approved by an appropriate state official.


  • All players must possess a valid USASA/State Association player pass.


  • Players must meet the minimum age requirement for the respective division during 2004.

RULES CONTINUED….
  • Teams may carry a roster of up to twenty-five players, with all twenty-five allowed to dress for each match.


  • Each team participating is guaranteed three full 90 minute matches.


  • Tie games stand in preliminary round games. Overtime periods are played in semi-final and final matches

WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?

  • The Veteran’s Cup Committee has received several bids to host the event in 2005 and 2006. The announcement of future Veteran’s Cup locations will be made early in 2004.
